Real Wrestling

Real wrestling is considered real competition, there is no script, nothing about a predetermined winner, or nothing like that.  There are different forms of wrestling all through out the world in many different cultures.  Modern wrestling is said to have originated in Rome around 550BC, but there is evidence of wrestling in Egypt in hieroglyphs and other drawings dating back to 2300BC.  Many forms of wrestling you see in different countries have been around for a very long time.  All of these forms have the same principles, and a lot of them have some of the same rules.  Wrestling that has come to America came from the Greek and Roman forms.  They also have roots in freestyle wrestling, and these forms of wrestling is what is used in organized wrestling that you see in high schools, colleges, and at the Olympic levels.

Wrestling is introduced to kids way earlier then high school, but that is where it starts getting more competitive.  Kids are introduced to wrestling right around the first grade, to prepare to compete at older ages.  You will learn all the fundamentals to wrestling, all the rules, and everything else that comes with competitive wrestling.  Once you get to middle school, and high school it becomes more serious, and you start training your body even more to compete at even higher levels.  There are many high school wrestlers that get the opportunity to wrestle in college.  And there is a chance that some if not all of your college tuition is paid for because of your wrestling skills.

Once in college you compete with other colleges in wrestling matches, once there it becomes very serious because these people are competing to get noticed for Olympic wrestling, and other wrestling competitions.  Olympic wrestling is about as high as you can go with wrestling, that is the top.  There is nothing better then being able to compete for your country in a sport that you have been practicing for since you were young.  It takes a lot of discipline to be able to go that far in a sport that don't pay dividends of other professional sports like baseball, football, basketball, etc.

If you are serious about becoming a wrestler you have to be disciplined.  Be ready to spend many hours practicing and learning different things about wrestling, different moves, different rules, and other things.  And once you get into middle school, and high school you will need to start training your body as well.  These are the times when you will be able to work out at the school, making yourself stronger, more athletic and everything else you need to become competitive in wrestling at that level.  It is imperative that you train as much as you can to stay competitive with the others that are training.

The most important thing to remember is to have fun, don't take anything too seriously, and try your best and you will not be disappointed in yourself.  It is very important that you are 100% into what you are doing because if not you leave yourself more open to injury and other problems.  Do this and you will be successful in wrestling through out your schooling career.
